One thing I love most about my job is getting to meet incredible people. People who are inspiring, people who are passionate about what they do, and people who are looking to continue to spread greatness. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Jessy Lee, the creator, founder, and owner of Statement Peace. Jessy is one of those women with so much energy and passion that it is contagious. After one zoom interview with her, I felt empowered.
Jessy always knew she was made for more. In 2014, she began diving into her creative journey, literally. There is a saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Well Jessy found a lot of treasure when she began to dumpster dive behind furniture warehouses. She got to work building juxtaposition art out of different pieces of furniture.
After finding out that she was pregnant, she had to take a break from that creative outlet. Fast forward to Peace Day 2017, Statement Peace, an eco-friendly lifestyle brand, launched. Statement Peace consists of wearable art, whether its t-shirts, necklaces, earrings, or other jewelry pieces and accessories. They partner with local woodworkers for supplies when crafting their jewelry and they adorned them with sterling silver components. For every piece of piece purchased; one tree is planted. They donate to an environmental charity, One Tree Planted. Statement Peace went from Naples Florida to over a thousand different locations in the U.S., as well as Canada, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
“Peace is what I get from this business,” Jessy told me. She is a woman who is looking to let her light continue to shine through making connections and continuing to expand her creative brand. “We make each ‘piece of peace’ with love and when we ship it to the buyer, and they wear it, that energy is transferred,” Jessy told me. Energy is contagious. She believes that if you stay true to yourself, have faith, and WORK HARD, things will fall into place.
Following your passion, staying true to yourself, and having faith in the universe are all things we should strive to focus on. Jessy reminded me that we all are in this together. She truly is someone to look to for inspiration.
